Blimey, don't know the car but if it turns out to be clean that price seems very low.

Or have I been deluding myself about how much they are worth???? I sincerely hope not!

Bargain I reckon. (As long as there's nothing hidden)

Seems to need a new diff.
www.pistonheads.com/sales/detail.asp?i=33915

That plus a good service and fix for rattles, add a few £k for things and the price is probably about right, maybe 1-2k less then normal but if he wants to sell it he can put whatever price he wants on it to sell.

Get it properly checked over, a few quotes and do your sums.

Horray !!! Eddie has turned up.

Well if you still have the CAT for the exhaust (MOT time), and that engine is OK, I think I can put up with it needing a diff.

When do you want the cash then Eddie, pop it up to me in Kettering, and I will give you a lift to the strain station, with a big brown envelope.

questions I would ask myself include:-
The car seems to have done very few miles recently?
A few hundred between Nov 03 and July 04 and then maybe 1500 since July and now.
Was it off the road a lot ?
And so is the service history spot on?
Why has it got an upgraded front end and why did the owner know the price of a complete clam when someone asked a few months ago.
Why sell a car with problems - surely a service through an indie might only cost £500 and he could add a few grand to the price.
Have the other probs been sorted eg the rear end clonk.
Would he negotiate on post diff fix and rattle fixes?
Is he ok for an indie to take a detailed look at it.
etc....
Pass all those points then it is a v good price.

For £11,500 its going to have problems isn't it.. or it would be more expensive. If you'd paid £20k for a Cerbie in Nov 2003, would you sell it for £11,500 today if it was a minter.

Ultimately I think its priced to sell, and as gazzab points out, the car has got some problems discussed on here previously which have doubtless had some bearing on the owners decision to part with it.

It doesn't necessarily mean its a bad car it just means that its going to need a bit of money spending on it to tidy it up and sort out some issues (eg the diff), so add that to the sale price to see what its actually going to cost.

Cheers,
Matt

Service next week and i will put a few grand on the price.
Service history is spot on got £20000.00 of bills all main delear.
Headlamps changed because old ones looked shitttt.
I know the price of a clam shell is because i own a car body paint shop

You won't sell your car if you don't reply to possible purchasers though !!!!

..I fear you may be dissapointed at the new price, especially if you've just agreed a sale.
