After lots of blatting around the nice dry roads yesterday decided best to check the oil before taking the beast out today. Managed to open bonnet catch but after all levels checked etc closed bonnet and couldn't turn the knob to put the locking pins in place. Tried to turn it with bonnet open in case pins not correctly seated but couldn't turn it even then. After about 15mins and with a pair of gardening gloves on (having lost most of the skin on the plam of my hand with the first few attempts) managed to get the bugger turned using a two handed approach. Any tips?

I had this problem when I bought mine, I had to go back to the dealer to get him to show me how it was done 
He just said practice playing with your knob ooer missus !
No I found that the little control rods on either side of the bonnet needed turning in rather than out and then I could turn the knob quite easily after that as they seemed to stick out a little bit when the bonnet was closed and so caught on the bonnet and stopped me from turning it. I think you can also over turn it a little bit if you do a search you'll see lots of posts about knobs - no way to talk about other PH'ers is it - this innuendo thing could go on some time

I,ve got a different problem that I think I've over turn my knob and now it will only lock on one side when you turn the knob to the left(un-locked?? I've been to see the folks up in Liverpool and every time the wind picked up the bonnet would start to lift. Ther whole way there at under 70mph. For the way back I had to zip tie the bonnet down. Has anyone over twisted their knob????
