Lambda location please?

Hi all,
Trying to diagnose why one bank isn't firing here.
The ECU software says there is no reading from the lambda sensor on that side (i.e. its reading zero), so I'm suspecting that the sensor is bad.
But can someone tell me where the lambda sensors are?!

i think it is in the passenger footwell, pull down the mat and the box is behind i think

No thats where the ECU is. The lambda sensors are mounted on the engine somewhere - but where?
And any other advice on why one bank isn't firing would oblige! Changed the coil pack (as the old one did look dodgy) but still no joy.

The lambda sensors are screwed into the exhaust manifold. The easiest way to locate them is to look along the exhaust manifold until you find a wire coming out of it - the wire comes from the lambda sensor screwed into the exhaust manifold.

Edited to add: faulty lambda sensor might make the engine run rather badly but shouldn't stop it running. If you have a total failure on one side of the engine I would suspect there's some other more general fault and the lambda sensor error is just a symptom.

I've got some old 4.2 lambda sensors if that's any help. IIRC they are right at the end of the manifold, accesible from under the car. Not 100% sure though. A bit of a pain to get to tho!

Yes the lambda sensor checks out ok, it is acutally reading something, just not much.

The only fault shown is AFR 'BAD'. Which I suppose is to be expected if the 4 cylinders on that side aren't firing.

Having checked all this, I'm not really any nearer finding out whats wrong. Possibly faulty NEW coil pack? ECU fault?

Any suggestions please?

could you try checking for a spark
and maybe swap left coil pack for the right to see if the non running bank changes? to eliminate the coils, the lambda sensorsare as staited are on the manifold just in front of cats,the round conectors are just on top of the bellhousing near the starter motor,

AFR bad is more likely poor setup. Lambada faults will light the mil lamp. the car will be shite to drive if the lambada is down. they should read from 0.1 (lean to 1.0+ (rich). Do check all plug lead connections - they have a habit of popping off. They are fitted right when you hear a click.
check the throttle linkage is tight.
what are the pot & adaptive readings?
