A year in the life of

Just renewed my Cerbera insurance so I have now owned it a year. (a very reasonable £557)

And I guess I have had a typical Cerbera experience. 10,000 miles covered at 73ppm costs. The vast majority of those costs were in the first 6 months to get the car upto scratch and now relatively cheap motoring (for a Cerbie).

The only disappointment has been it took so long to get the brakes to stop squealing (Grrrr)-but that is now sorted.

I have taken the car to 6 different countries in those 12 months and had a great deal of fun. Met some great people. I'm very happy and I thought I'd share that with you all!!

Looking forward to the next 12 months.

Out of interest, how did you resolve your brake squealing problem? Mine seem to be getting worse at the moment, and could do with sorting it out..

And here..... just fitted new discs and pads all round and they are very loud.

And mine. New front disks and pads all round have turned it from a silent braker to a nasty squealer.

This was supposed to be a "feel good" topic. I dunno!!

Anyway I tried pretty much everything-change pads, change disks, refit disks, copper paste the works but what eventually worked was putting a 45 degree chamfer on the lead edge of the pads.

They still generate some noise but I am no longer afraid to brake for fear of losing my teeth.

Mine has now stopped squealing. Dont know why. Had tried allsorts to stop it, but its just stopped by itself.

I've done 15k miles since May and have Loved every single mile .

BTW what are you lot moaning about with the brakes? they're supposed to make noise!
