Discussion
Hi folks,
I'm not a Cerbie owner but I would like to be.
The main thing that puts me off is parts availablility.
I saw a comment on a recent thread that stated the aftermarket situation was improving.
I would dearly love a AJP V8 engined Cerb and I am more than confident my mechannic can look after it, so long as I can get the parts.
I worry that TVR have lost interest in this engine, but have any independents addressed the situation.
I believe even the famous Jools doesn't touch cerb engines.
Any wisdom on the subject would be greatfully recieved.
Bob.
NB. I really have no intention of starting a speed six bashing thread here!

Engine internals are harder to get, the quality of which could be lacking, due to the factory selling you something ancient rather than a recent design fixed part... etc etc...
Its a gamble, but most engines are solid, I think if you were to get an engine totally trashed, you're better off doing an engine conversion and it would definitely work out far better economically...
Contact TVR Power, they have a better understanding of whats what with the AJPV8 factory parts issue. Or you can contact TVRCraft - who can get custom components made up - in my books, you're not at a loss, either way, prices for parts will be higher than before... less stock, more demand, custom builds, etc etc, always costs...

Joolz DOES touch cerbera engines, but the V8's only. He is the god of the AJP's.

ah well you're both partly right .. I don't rebuild cerbera engines .. there's so many people uot there doing rebuilds at such cheap rates it's daft me trying to compete with them .. I'd just send the car to them and let them do it start to finish.
TVR Power of course would be the favourites
