Fan switch?

I'm pretty sure that the temp switch for the coolant fans is K'ned, any ideas what its off? And what temperature its sposed to turn the fans on at? Also where does it live? there are 2 sensors in the bottom junciton pipe, one with a capillary off it ( so off to car gauge) the other looks like a ECU type. Does the ECU switch the fans?

Mine went, but still provided a circuit so the ECU didn't spot it as a problem. I therefore had no fans whatsoever. If you end up breaking the circuit (wire or such like, the ECU will assume a temprature that will bring the fans on, and keep them on - to avoid overheating.

The ECU does control both fans (95oC and 98oC). It sounds like you have found the sensor anyway. I replaced mine for about £12 from pennisula which did the trick.

Try checking the plugs to the radiators as mine was stuffed with vasaline and work when they wanted, all i did was clean them out and bingo no cost and fixed.
They are at the bottom of the radiators.
