Cerbera Virgin ! Help !

Hi Guys,
I have recently purchased a beautiful Cerbera 1997 4.2 and everything worked perfectly until tonight after I gave the car a quick wash.
The engine started misfiring badly and some white smoke came from the exhaust. I did not put any water in the engine bay but may have flooded the exhaust a little.
Should I just wait until the water in the exhaust has disappeared OR could it be anything else wrong?

If it's misfiring don't do what some muppet on here with a sp6 did and keep driving it *hoping it'll get better* .. bang!
if in any doubt get it sorted asap. your car will love you all the more for it .. it's testing you at the moment to see whether you're worthy to be it's owner, don't let it down

Tx for your prompt reply Joolz, as I hear, you are the absolute Cerbera-Guru so your word is gospel to me. 
I have already booked the Cerbie in for a health check at Tower Racing (unfortunately you're too far away
).
In the meanwhile, is it ok if I try to fire up the engine once the exhaust/spark plugs have dried off ?
The car's been tuned and throttle-balanced just over a month ago and so far 100% no problems! Perfect manners even when long city driving. I'm feeding her Optimax and a Shell Helix Ultra 10w40.
This little problem aside, I've done over 1000 miles in the month I had the Cerb and absolutely loving it!

I'd leave it a while to dry out and give it another try, if still misfiring get it looked at.
Have a check to see if any waters got onto the ECU in the passenger footwell.
I had a lot of trouble with mine when I first got it, everytime it would rain heavy it would start missfiring and the MIL light flashing, turned out to be a new wiring loom needed but took a while to find this, was all under warenty so was lucky there at least.
