No go in mid range

4.5 cerbie - runs fine below about 3k rpm - no go 3K - 5.5K rpm seems to drop a cylinder or 2 under hard acceleration but they all join in again at about 5.5K rpm and is ok from there on - any ideas?

Have a read of this very recent thread - www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?t=263556&f=6&h=0 - in particular read the comment from Trackcar, it sounds very similar to the symptoms of your car?

Thanks - this relates to lumpyness at low revs when info from the lamda sensor is informing the fuel mixture - my problem is mid range 3500 - 5500 rpm when info from the lamda sensor is bypassed (low and high rev running are both fine) - I suspect it may be a damp coil resulting from over enthusistic washing prior to pistonfest (important to wash the car annually whether it needs it or not)but wanted to understand other potential causes while people were still at home in case there is something else I should investigate
