URGENT - Jacking Car

Could someone please confirm that the safest place to jack the car is the mid point on the outer chassis rails as it specifies in the bible. I have just started jacking the car and there seems to be a lot of creaking and groaning going on, is this normal? Having looked at how those outer rails are connected to the main backbone , they don't look like an overly strong place to jack off.
I usually jack mine from one of the cross members, front or rear. But on the odd occasion I have jacked one side, I've always done it centre side.
Then I always place 2 axle stands under the main box section chassis rails. And leave the jack in place as extra security.

No your jacking it in the wrong place !! The correct place is at the corner of the outriggers. Look just past the front wheel arch, the outriggers come off from the central backbone at 90 deg , and then run along under the sills to the rear wheel arch, where they go back at 90 deg to the chassis again. At each corner. i.e just rear of the front wheel arch, and just forward of the rear wheel arch there is a triangular strengthening plate, this is where you should place the jack, so you need 2 jacks to get one side of the car up, NOT just one jack in the middle. Or you can use one jack in the rear centre of the car, and another at the front centre, but not sure exactly where !!
oops, well I have just jacked mine at the centre after reading budaholics post and placed stands front and rear. All seems to have gone ok, certainly not bent anything which i suppose potentially would be the problem. I wish I had read jensennas post before I went outside though. Not that it would have helped much as I only have 1 trolley jack.
don't ever jack in the middle of a round tube, they're very fragile and even short tubes can easily be buckled. Jacking it in the middle of a long tube like the outrigger main tube is really asking for trouble. Ideally jack it under one of the main chassis rails, or if that isn't possible jack it under one of the outrigger stays. And if you're jacking under a round tube, make sure you use a board to spread the load and avoid damaging the tube.

No it means the same in South Wales and I chuckled also but didn't want to appear to be childish either
