Adaptive Readings - What do I need to do
Discussion
My Cerb 4.2 has just started running 'not quite right'. Hooked it up to the Laptop and the adaptive readings are -25 and +22. The Lamda readings appear to be OK, so does anyone have any ideas?
Now for the stupid questions !!!
1. I've read in other posts about adjusting the airflow by adjusting the link rod. Well how do I do that. I have tried, held the link rod tight with mole grips, and slackened off the 2 bolts at each end, then the link rod can just be turned, but nothing seems to happen!
2. How do I adjust the throttle pots?
Any advice would be much appreciated

Get somebody who knows what they're doing to show you, or do it for you.
Of course there's nothing to stop you having a go with mole grips and so on but it's a fairly complicated and delicate system (I mean the engine and its management system, not the throttle linkage) and plenty of scope to bugger something up along the way.

GreenV8S - yes I know the words 'Using a mole Grip' implies a Master Bodger and instills fear in any mechanic! I'm not totally useless mechanically, just unfamiliar with the Cerb engine - the grips were just used to hold the linkage while you undo the bolts.
I just need to know how to adjust the linkage to balance the air flow, and how to adjust the throttle pots. Just minor tinkering, and if it doesnt work, then it's off to the Experts, don't worry

The linkage had opposite threaded ball ends on it, so turning one way shortens it, turning the other lengthens. The drivers side bank has the throttle stop so adjusting the link rod only moves the passenger side bank relative to this (if you see what I mean).
To adjust the drivers side airflow, you use the throttle stop screw.
Throttle pots are adjusted by loosening the tiny screws that hold them on and then rotating left or right.
I've found it all incredibly sensitive and my car is still not quite right. I used an airflow meter to balance the banks too.
Good luck!
