Help needed low loader on it's way!!!!!!

Hi All

If anyone is on-line can you let me know what is needed to get the cerb on the back of a low loader. I've called the AA and I have asked for a low, low, low loader, do I need anything to get it on the back. I think the clutch has gone!!!

Here's a useful tip I picked up to save damage to the front of the car. Stand on the steel cable used to winch the car up the ramp, to prevent the cable from making contact with the car. If you stand as close as poss to the front of the car, you can balance yourself on the cable, resting your hands gently on the bonnet to stabilise yourself. I know it sounds daft, but it works a treat.

They will have two planks of wood to help get it on

You'll be fine, mine has been on an AA truck several times withoutr damage, but the only thing I would say is make sure they use the eye on the front chassis rail rather than tying strops around the wishbones, I started jumping up and down when the ape suggested he wanted to do this!

If they strap it, watch the straps don't leave little lines up the side of the bodywork.

I tend to go over the flyover and take the Wimbledon exit that way you don't get stuck at the train crossing are you locaL??

If you get the AA guy Trevor (ironic eh?) he knows what he's doing. Even seemed to know the cost of a new clutch for mine as he winched it aboard!

Watch that the metal buckles for the wheel straps are clear of the alloys. Was nice to see the AA did this as a matter of course (i hadn't even thought about it!)

Main danger I saw was grounding the tail pipes as it was lowered / winched off the loader too quickly. (only just got away with it)

All done with no problems the guy seemed to know what he was doing. Just one point the front of the car was full of water the front nose cone bit as he winched it up a good few gallons of water came out. The AA man thought the rad had bust!! Need to check those holes and keep them clean.
