Bloody speed humps hurt my Cerbie

Smell of petrol after I filled up should have been a clue, so should the fact that I did half a tank of petrol in 30 miles! Basically, I went over a speed hump at around 10mph and it split the fuel line. Bottom of the front of the car beneath the rads is scratched, damage on the back etc. Ramp was higher than my car is!
Insurance company may well pay and are looking to the council for settlement.
Figure that while she is off the road I may as well take the opportunity to do a sports zorst. Giving the car to the TVR Centre at Barnet as I couldn't care less about the cost, thats for the insurance company. They are local to me, and they seem to do a pretty good job.
So the point of this post is to pint out that there are ramps out there which are higher than the bottom of a Cerbie - don't pay for the damage, hit the council for it and 2) while she is off the road any thing else I should get them to fettle? Obviousl already asked them to look over the car carefully and give me a full condition report.

good luck with the claim, we've often wondered where we would stand with the council if we damaged the car going over speed humps, thankfully not done it yet, but sometimes have to hold my breath when going over some of them.

Well, my insurance company will cover the repairs so thats nice. However, I need to recover uninsured from the council. Not sure what the insrance company view is on that yet but I will chase them tomorrow. I would guess the car will be off the road for the next 2 weeks at least. Away next weekend so not all bad but is there anything in the world more frustrating than a stunningly hot and sunny day, owning a supercar and not being able to drive it?!

The maximum legal height of a speed hump is 100mm, but the Department for Transport say:
"To limit the possibility of grounding, investigations suggest that road humps generally should not exceed 75mm in height."

Roads around me are littered with them ...
My cerb is low - very low - Im going to raise it just to keep my sump safe!
it mentions only humps - trouble is most of those are in private car parks
- speed tables and cushions are not so bad - are they coveredunder the same regulations?
