...wots up with me temp gauge?...Drove to Brighton today..no probs..showing 90-95 all the time.
Had to go into London on the way back...not the best place
to take a Tiv in this blistering heat!..gauge went upto just over 110! ...but didnt panic as the fans were cutting in and out...but to be on the safe side.and to avoid a traffic jam on the way home..I stooped for a at one of those watering holes...
Anyway..after a couple of shandies and 45 mins later...back on the road...gauge still showing just over 110...checked under bonnet before I left...all seemed ok...a little warm..but water levels all ok...
Stayed at this figure all the way home, and been home for over an hour now, and still shows the same..so me thinks the needle is stuck.
Anyone else seen this, or have any solution?..(just had a new gauge in the past few months due the other stop reading all together!)

My temp guage and my speedo does this!!! Drive around and wack the dial with your knuckles until it moves slightly, keep doing until up and down movement resumes...

If no joy (after several attempts) check that both fans are cutting in (actually moving). Next any problems with water pump?

I drove to London yesterday to het my Car serviced and that gauge was always at 100-105, (It's normally pretty steady at 90) and a couple of times went up to 110, just as I had decided to make a dash for the hard shoulder and switch everything off before it went bang, it dropped back to the 100 mark. I think (hope) it was just that yesterday was friggin hot, if this heat carries on I'm going to rip my number plate off and let some much needed air into the gaping grill!

It could be that your gauge went up to 110 and has just got stuck there, wedged into the bit it never normally goes too, but you know what Cerbs are like, it will be back to normal tomorrow

Feek..me knuckles are now bout to bleed...and still at 110......does anyone know the easiest way to partly remove dial from dash so that I can see if the glass facsia can be removed. Might try to gentley tap needle itself to see if it'll go back!

Of course now you know it's broken you can stop worrying about the water temperature

Was just gonna add that flicking my dial glass in the middle free's my temp needle. Sometimes mine sticks at min overnight and I think its due to me parking on my drive which is reasonably steep. Looks like you've tried this though.

I can increase my oil pressure by 10psi by flicking the glass, so I guess the dials are prone to sticking...

The entire gauge can be removed by undoing the pair of wing nuts holding the binnacle cover on, and then undoing the clamp nuts that hold the 'c' clamp agains the back of the dash, getting the capillary tube out from the water pipe in one piece is another story....

Which led to me fitting a SPA dual gauge which has so far been working brillantly
