rear window trim?

You know the carbon-fibre looking trim that runs along the botton of the rear window?

1. Where can I get a replacement?

2. How is it held on (tigaseal probably!)

shame to see knowone has helped.Have you rang up any tvr garages or anything like that to ask.Or it may be a good idea to phone/visit a tvr brakers yard that have a cerb there to see if you can knick one the carbon window surrounds off there cerb.

Is your old one not serviceable eg dont some people rub down and relaquer?

Well water or something seems to have got underneath the top layer and its separating from the rest. Looks like sh*t at the moment.

I suppose it could be rubbed down and lacquered...

Is it glued on, anyone know?

Never said he was breaking the speed limit did he... could have been anywhere.

I know someone posted on this before and another poster had removed and just rubbed it down and sprayed it matt black. Could be a short term option whilst you source another, mine is looking a bit tired also so was thinking of doing this.

Not sure how they remove, give yours a tug will you and report back will you?

When my car was re-sprayed last year a full new set of rear and side carbon trim was fitted. IIRC it was a silly figure like £120 + for the set. I think the body shop probably got it through TVR Power. The rear strip is bonded, but as mentioned above, if it is just the laquer that is lifting, you can flat it off and varnish it. I achieved very good results doing this with a carbon fibre sailing dinghy mast a while back. I used Ultravar 2000, a 2 pack varnish for marine applications made by SP Systems. It is rather expensive (available from chandlers) I guess any decent varnish or spray laquer would do the job...
