They both got wiped out by a big bang, yip you guessed it my engine went bang the other day.
Was driving home from work on friday morning comming out of 60 zone and about to go into a 30, was doing about 60 ish and i heard an almighty BANG from the engine and then it cut off so i pulled into a side street and got out to see oil drain from the engine and a very high rate, so anyways i called the aa who came out and after managing to get the car jacked up he went under and procceded to come back out with a 4 inch piece of the sump.....'hmmmm that'l be your problem then' he said. So somthing has broken in the engine and hit the sump to cause the hole.
Any ideas what it could be?
So after a few long hours of crying into my pillow thinking i was goin to have a very big bill for repairing the engine i called the dealer i got my car from to check if it will be covered under the warranty......and it is, such a huge relief! Thought i was going to have to sell a kidney or pimp myself out to pay for it.
The cars getting low loadered to the garage tomorrow, not sure howlong it'l be away for but i think it'l be a few weeks

What year, engine size and mileages are these cars (both you and Ballsy)?

I got a 6 month warranty with a £5000 limit for any single claim
Not got a clue what it is thats went bang and my friend with the transporter cant take me till tommorow, how long does an engine re-build normally take? i might have to buy myself a cheap fiesta or somthing to run back and forth to my work till it gets done

good luck with the warranty. My TVR warranty proper wormed their way out of paying for my engine rebuild costs. I wouldnt celebrate the work being paid for until the warranty co have inspected and agreed in writing.
Also - £5K is maybe not enough if FULL engne rebuild (eg crank, heads etc)
