speakers

I have a 1997 4.2. It has speakers/tweeters in the doors, a centre speaker(Pioneer dual cone) and rear speakers. Only the rear ones work. Does anyone know if the other speakers are wired and how to connect them. The sound is not very good. Can anyone recommend what to replace them with but I do not want to spend a fortune on a sound system. It currently has a single slot Panasonic stereo.

I had a similar problem, and fixed it this weekend. My front Left speaker had stopped working. Assuming you have checked the speakers are connected at the Radio end, it could be the connector in the door.

I Removed the door panel, traced the speaker wires (all 6" of them so its easy), and they connect to small plastic multi-pin connector. Cleaned the connector with a toothbrush and WD40, and it now works.

Mackers - Any chance of a picture of your centre speaker. Where is it? I don't have one on mine but I've noticed my new player supports it. I was wondering where it went.

I would if I knew how do get pictures onto the forum. The normal method I use is to copy and paste as you would do in sending emails. Any ideas

I use [pic] pic url[/pic] does img work aswell?
