Looks like I'm going to have to store the Cerbera for around 6 weeks or so. Where it's being left is a dry, secure location but has no power. This means I can't leave it on a trickle charger as I normally do. Is there any issue with simply disconnecting the battery and leaving it in situ, then reconnecting it when I need to move the car?

Will the battery drain anyway?

Would I be better off taking the battery with me and leaving it on charge at home?

Is there any likelihood of the alarm going off whilst the battery is out of the car?

6 weeks? I’d just make sure it’s charged up, alarm off then unbolt the positive pop a rag around it.

I'd take the battery home and trickle charge it. Every time my battery has died is when it's been left for a while having work done.

Only when you connect it all back up, so make sure you have your fob to hand as you do so.

Thanks guys. I was toying with the idea of taking it out and leaving it on a trickle charge, so I'll defo do that.

Yeah, I've had the alarm go off whilst reconecting the battery, without having the key fob in my pocket. You only do that once! biggrin

I have a battery isolator switch on mine. No problems so far.

I added a Painless Performance Remote Master Disconnect Kit #30206 to my Stag, which works great, but haven't done that with the Cerbera.

I think if I did, I might go with a Ron Francis RFW-MS11 that has a remote fob. Until then I'll just stick with the trickle charger.

Just disconnect the Earth terminal.

Not so easy on a Cerb, might as well remove altogether hence that why I said remove the positive terminal then the battery can stay in situ.
