Bonnet gas struts

Haven't been on here for a while ! I'm looking for any information anyone has on fitting a set of gas struts to the cerb bonnet whilst it's in for a front end respray please .
I've found a picture of one and the owner said he got some info of here .

I wouldn't do this.

The bonnets bounce and flex and the constant resistance to this b where the strut meets the bonnet is likely to cause stress cracks like they did on my old 400SE which did have gas struts.

I have larger knurled nuts (ex Steve Heath) with rubber stops on top that hold on the top wiper panel to help stop the bonnet flexing during driving. Not sure I've want to introduce another flex point for the few times the bonnet is open?

Also, it's easy to forget to latch the bonnet...

I fitted some a few years back: works fine, no cracking. The bonnet feels better secured, as there's eight points of attachment rather than four. If anything, the original strut was causing a crack to form in the middle of the bonnet on the rear edge, the gas struts keep it flat as it lifts & shuts. I use a strut clamp to ensure it stays up, the struts assist it up, but a strong breeze can cause them to close again.
