As per title really ... I assume it shouldn't be doing that? smile

If I grab my wipers, I can swing them through about 30 degrees of movement. They both do it in unison, and if I hold 1 wiper still, the other one will not move. So I took the removable slam panel off and gave the wipers a wiggle ... it seems the movement is coming because the motor is twisting in it's bracket.

This is my first TVR, so not sure if this is a "they all do that sir" type of moment.

There seems to be only 1 bracket across the lower half of the motor with no other fixings holding it in place. Is that correct?

My instinct is to try tightening the bracket to see if that stops the movement, but thought it best to check to see if there should be a second bracket somewhere before I go over tightening anything!

Thanks in advance for any help ... and I apologise for spamming the forum with threads tonight. I'm trying to bottom out some niggles with the new car, and find it easier to address each issue separately.

Watching this one with interest. Mine are the same. If the screen isn’t wet enough they stop about 30 degrees up, and I can just push them down (push one and they both move). The wipers are the one part of my car that I have never got to know ..

The Cerbera is a world of fun and frustration - in equal measures. Slow/sticky wipers have always been issue and I also had sloppy movement before tightening things up.

There is only the one fixing clamp, but if the motor is loose within that - wrap some rubber strips round the motor to take up the play. There should also be a big nut at the output drive cable of the motor gearbox which holds the motor against the wiper mechanism housing.

A fix for draggy slow wipers can be found here https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Requires a wee bit of fettling, but that's something to get used to with ownership. smile

Thank you Notaping.

I'm not sure when I'll have some spare time to give it a tickle, but great to know.

I'll report back when I've managed to tackle it.
