Is this standard?

This gearshift gaiter aluminium surround ring, my car doesn't have it. Perhaps it once did but i bought it without an engine or gearbox (with the gaiter and the shifter extension lever in the boot) but no ring.

I think they are after market. You see them on Chimaeras and Griffiths too, but they weren't fitted when new.

In a standard car is the gaiter sewn into the tunnel?

No, it just sits in there, which is probably why people fit them, to smarten it up a bit.

The handbrake cover, gear knob and gaiter ring all look like Leven accessories, but I think they stopped trading some years ago.
