Replacement Headlining

Does anyone know if the rear screen has to come out in order to install a new headlining?

I believe it does as I was quoted for the trim and the words inc. removal and refitting of rear screen were there

No need to remove the rear window, you can easily cut the old lining out and carefully fold you new lining over the lip so it can be glued in place.
