Discussion
My love hate relationship continues with the marque and have just acquired this 2003 4.5 LW.
I ve overall enjoyed 27 years of on/off Chim and Griff ownership, getting to know every part intimately so feel I'm going back to school with this one.
I ll spend a couple of months digesting the car prior to making any decisions if there are any area s I'd like to improve or enhance. As much as I do like the appearance of the spiders, 12 kilos a piece is hardly lightweight, so will be on the lookout for more suitable wheels. I ve run Ohlin s and 6 kg wheels on one of my Chim 500 s, despite its compromised factory geometry design it became quite a nimble yet planted beast.
Picture taken in the UK by a previous owner, it s been living in NZ for the past 15 years and is still in great condition.

Looks stunnng Paul.
You already have the most essential resource at your fingertips - this forum.
You have loads of experience of TVR so no unexpected surprises.
Just whichever AJP comes in her to be apprehensive of.
Change the Oil frequently, use her frequently and ENJOY !

Yes, have been following the "Lightweight" Cerbera's for some time now and am conscious on how it can get bandied about. I do take mine with a pinch of salt besides what I've found on previous sales agreement receipts, although nothing appears in the logbook.
Good news today, My Wilwood 330mm Chim rotors besides the centre bore have the perfect offset and width, so an easy change here without the need to import in the future, besides they should be quite a bit lighter. I guess I'm stuck with the rears having the drum park brake setup.
Had some BBS 8.5 kg wheels in storage with 40mm offsets, although there 17 x 8 & 17 x 9, ill put them for the next track day and see if I notice any difference before deciding on another wheel change. Jury's out if it would be BBS though.
The front uprights appear to be from the last evolution of TVR uprights, so at least I can find what KPI these are, as I wish to use these on another TVR chassis with new fabricated wishbones.
Loving the car.

Hi Paul,
Wow ! That looks like an impressive first update.
I had BBS wheels on my Lotus Esprit Turbo and always liked the look of 'em
.
Where in NZ are you ?
I have a mate who moved back 2 years ago - He is a Motor Nut as well and it's interesting that you talk about TrackDays - He never has !
Good Luck in your comparisons
