Hoping to get the body off my Cerb soon. Been working on the nuts and bolts for, ooh, only about two years now hehe

Seriously, hopefully next weekend or maybe the weekend after.

I have a couple of engine hoists and lots of jacks and such like. I can even get a Manitou or Loadall if need be. Chassis will be pulled out from underneath the body and then needs fully stripped of parts and sent off for blasting and repair.

What does everyone do with the body? How heavy is it? Can I just rest it on some trestles or sawhorses? Realistically it’ll be off the chassis for at least 6 months I would guess, possibly longer if past performance is anything to go by.

Pic for attention

Some useful tips here including a dolly for borrowing.

Thanks, that’s really useful. I’m 600 miles from the chap with the dolly but it’s a good idea and a nice offer from him - I might end up making something similar myself.

I've got my Tuscan body hoisted up on a timber frame inside my garage, so the floor is clear underneath for manoeuvring the chassis etc about, but you have a lot more space than me by the looks of your picture!

Hmm thanks yeah that sort of thing was on my mind. Handy to store things under.

Got any pics?

It's not heavy. 2 x 4's and ratchet straps . . .

This was how I built it when first lifting it. Once up I realised it wasn't too heavy, so removed the legs on the drivers side with the cross beams resting on the steel central RSJ.
