Hi guys I been looking to get my TVR cerbera remapped for a long time now iv been trying to get it in to joolz but after a few years of trying it left me at a bit of a??? But I been reading about a ecu called syvecs and how the s6 was designed with the cerbera in mind also that it can give you a better all round better performance has any one got any info or comparison data from that ecu to the emerald or original???

Syvecs are great ECU s, I had one on a Subaru years ago. Lots of functionality but are expensive these days. Other good options might include Link (I am contemplating this for my Cerb LS) or even Emerald.

I wouldn’t assume the car will necessarily make much more peak power with “just” a remap but you can certainly make some small gains and generally improve the fuelling and general behaviour and such like. It’s not like taking a modern bmw twin turbo six cylinder and adding 50% more power with a map by throwing boost and fuel at it hehe

Have you tried Powers? Not sure why their ECU work would apply to the Cerb too.

Thanks guys yes iv talked to power and they said no change out of 5000 but from what I saw on the net the newish s7i syvec which is the upgrade. To the s6 is 3000 and iv been trying to get my cerb remapped for a few years now but it's been a nightmare so if this is a good exchange I'll go for it

Emerald.

They come highly recommended and I wouldn't be looking anywhere else.

Standard MBE mapping the expert is Joolz and wouldn't cost anywhere near that

Yeah I use one on an old Escort (with a Duratec) and it’s fine and cheap. Most mappers will have used one at some point and the guys at emerald are pretty helpful on the phone.

100% but it seems the op has had some difficulty along the line.
Interesting to know what it was as Joolz is as good and straight as they come.

Cheers guys its getting hold of joolz in 2 years I think I got hold of him once and power said £5000!! plus the new s7i syvecs seems to have a lot of engine protection features am not looking for crazy speed just good driveability and iv read some good results can be had and if they were designed with the TVR cerbera in mind. Well it's worth a look

Not sure why you haven't managed to make it work with Joolz

The only person I've paid serious money to work on my car is Joolz, he's a great guy to work with, and worth every penny

Ukkid35, iv been trying to get my car to joolz for ages I know he's busy and I've spoken to him once and he emailed me but for the last few month's or so iv been phoning and sending emails but nothing so I read about the syvecs and throught I'd give it a look see and with all the advances in technology it should be better than the old lot from what iv read and there is a you tube of a speed 6 on the rolling road with a syvecs map and it sounds good. Id like to get my cerb to joolz but iv had my car a good wile now and these specialists it's hard work and money so am at the stage where I just want what's good for my car and the Syvec is worth a look

Yep all our race car run on Syvecs.

Lots of protection as you mentioned. Very very good ECU.

Sorry, it's been a funny year (two years..) plus a few health issues. I'm back in work today but have been off for over 2 months with one thing and another (I shouldn't really be in work now but I can't have any more time off, the curse of the self employed..).
I've tried to reply to as many people as possible but I get a lot of emails and phone calls and I just lose track of everything sometimes.
On the upside, the syvecs is a great ecu so you won't be disappointed going that route. All the best with it all.

Joolz contacted me but is way to busy but iv been reading up on the syvecs ECU and it seems that they were a hot topic around 2010 to 2012 seems syvecs did a kit s6 ecu for the speed 6 engine I found a few threads about a tamora and there's one on a 4.5 but I don't think that kit worked well on the v8s something about one lamber port or something so it seems to have faded out but syvecs has a new s7plus which I think they made to address the v8s. But I can't seem to find any recent threads about the syvecs s7plus and the cerbera V8 I'd like to hear if anyone is running the new s7plus and how it works with the v8

Syvecs is way over-spec'd for a Cerbera. You are paying ££££ for features you will never use.

If Joolz can't do an Emerld for you, you could still get one fitted and take it to the main Emerald man himself Dave Walker. (He is the man behind Emerald)

Or.. Anything like DTA will also do the job very very well, depending on what your chosen mapper likes to use.

As said above we have them fitted to all our AJP8 race cars.

They work perfectly, loads of scope to add extra sensors etc if you want.
We keep ours quite basic.

Cam sensor
Knock sensor
Duel wideband lambda
Fuel pressure x 2
Engine Temp x2
Oil pressure
air temp
intake temp
oil temp
gearbox oil temp


Dont expect much difference in top end power. Mid range does seem to be better power wise (that could just be different dynos) Everything is tune-able, for instance they spent a little bit more time on our latest car making sure it started nicely without a driver in the car. You just press the start button now and it jumps into life at a high idle that drops once a set temperature has been met.
