Speedo Adjustment Lever
Discussion
I've been a little silly, and hoping the collective wisdom of PH can bail me out.
My odometer had stopped working, so I took the speedo out and disassembled it to see if I could figure out what was up.
There was a worm gear that had come out of it's mounting hole, so I reseated that. While doing that, I accidentally moved a plastic lever inside the speedo mechanism. With hindsight, this is obviously some sort of adjustment/calibration mechanism. I wasn't sure where it was positioned prior to me moving it ... so settled on a position about half way through the movement arc.
Upon reassembling and taking for a test drive, 2 things are very obvious. Firstly, my odometer still isn't working! Secondly, my previously bob-on speedo is now overreading by about 10% or so.
Does anyone know which way to move the adjustment lever to decrease the speed being shown? Is it moving the end of the lever towards the front (dial) on the unit, or towards the back?
