Could someone please e-mail me a photo of the dangerous, infamous cracking front upright as fitted to some earlier Cerberas? I was looking at mine today, it looks quite beefy, but not sure if it's of the safe variety.

Cheers,

Hi Scott

I don't have a photo of the offending item, but, I spoke with TVR
about this not long ago and was told this:

If the upright is a two part unit, it needs replacing.

The early cars had a single moulded unit which was then
replaced around late 96 / early 97 and it was the
replacement 2 part upright that failed and caused the recall.

If your car has needed the recall, it should have a sticker on the VIN plate.
If it hasn't or you are not sure (the stickers can come off),
speak with TVR directly, they can tell you if it has been done or
needs to be, simply by giving them the VIN number.

I hope that helps a bit?

Go create some weather...

I rang my nearest TVR dealer, who took the VIN, then rang back to say they would need to see the car. They were helpful, but couldnt answer my question over the phone. The part is a hefty item, and I think it is one piece. The car is January 1997 registered.
Thanks for your help GCerbera.
