ooh.. it's raining. first time out in the rain.

anyone have any interesting comments on how easy one needs to take it?

I'm not about to try 360s just wondering if there are war stories out there.

Don't floor it in 1st & 2nd (you WILL get wheelspin), in fact, it's been dry for about a month, so road will probably be greasy, so you'll probably spin in 3rd too. Other than that, just take it easier.... I was amazed how well behaved the Cerb was the first time we ventured out in the rain.

These cars are real easy to drive in the rain. Just be sensible and don't be scared of it. If you get into bother, you'll know straight away that you were being an arse with the accelerator, and that you probably deserved it.

Seconded.

Very very easy to drive, just be more smooth with the controls. You have probably learned not to be ham fisted by now anyway, that gets you into trouble even in the dry

One last thing, don't try to race scoobys. You will have no chance. Even my skyline leaves the cerbie for dead in the wet.

well it was interesting in th rain... took it pretty easy but did have a couple of little moments with the rear end. (road was clear so relatively safe environment)

you're right though... if you're heavy with the juice in the wet you're gonna slide the back end. might find a track day or advanced driving to test the limits safely... understand the car a bit better.

Was pushing it a bit this morning cos I like trying my luck in the rain. I see it as good training.

Obviously no cars around and known stretch of corner.

Ended up quite flabberghasted at the speed and the suddeness at which the rear popped out. Obviously going to take a bit of getting used to as the other cars I've had have been much more progressive.

Not sure how long you've had the car but when I first got mine it did this to me a few times. It was only after the throttle pots had been balanced I realised it was because the engine had been runninng a little rough. Nothing you'd notice unless you really knew Cerbs but enough to make the step from the fixed to addaptive mapping noticable. i.e. a bucket load of torque added at about 4-5000 rpm.

what does balancing the throttle pots entail?

Would this have been done at my recent 6k service?

It should have been. But they can get upset quite quickly.

If your not yet used to the car I'd suggest getting someone who is to drive or maybe blag a test drive in another cerb so you can compare the two.

What are you comparing it with? Do you know that your suspension is set up properly etc.? It's a lot more progressive than the shorter wheelbase TVR, e.g. Chimaera.
