I get a slight delay if I put my foot down, say in 2nd or 3rd at lower revs... is this normal. Car takes a second to pick up... then shoots off pretty rapido.
Only a problem at lower revs... just wondering if it's normal.

I had similar problems.
1) Was a dead spot
2) The other would be a partial missing.
The first was cured in the recent work engine work, but not not sure how. (I'll ask)
The second is a spark lead breaking down.

Mine had this fault - found out it was the ECU. The updated chip did the trick and it only cost £32 but £££££'s for the dealer to fault find it

Regular cause for this is throttle pots. Not expensive and do degrade causing a feel that the engine is fluffing or flooding slightly when accellerating from low revs. May also be plug leads if they are faily old. They dont like the engine heat. Give Joolz a bell at Joospeed. Im sure he'll put you right. I believe hes back in the office from Monday.

Yep, went through two throttle pots aswell. Car ran great for about 15 miles then it gradully came back. Probably down to the adaptive maps in the ecu.

You mentioned before that you car felt slower after the service. Sounds again like you need an AJP expert to just set it up properly ie throttle pots, check sensor readings etc

any idea what it would cost to set up right, retune etc?

depends what needs doing.
It could be one hrs labour to set up the throttle pots (so about £35) OR could be sensors (from £20 - £100) OR could be leads etc.......
I wouldnt expect a bill of more than £100 to sort though.
