Jimbob,
I'm currently getting the whole of the interior done as I
New carpets and leather all round including the roof lining which is being changed to leather too....
I went to see the work in progress a couple of nights ago and so far its looking superb...
Heres a little sample...
I'll post some more pics when its complete because the lighting in these really don't do it the justice it deserves... I can't wait to get it back next week!!
One thing that has come to light in stripping all the old stuff out is that it wasn't actually fitted with leather in the first place.
Some sort of vinyl look'a'like
Is this normal for the early cars and also it was advertised as being leather so where would I stand on that???
All I can say with regards to $$$ is that its not cheap! but as its being done in Germany its probably alot less than what you'd pay in good ol'ripoff Britain!

Ahhh,
The old TVR fake leather trick. No your car is not unique, I think most cerbies have this.
I know a load of people are going to jump in and say 'mine is full leather blah blah' but the reality is that everyone who has taken their car for retrimming has been told the same thing.
The perforated bits on the seats and centre console is leather, the rest isn't.

I've recently had my steering wheel and gear stick gaitor re-trimmed by AJ Trimming... very happy with the results. Link below

PS Following on from the thread about 'sex in a Cerbera', I thought this thread was going to be about Brazilians!!!

Yet another "let's knock TVR comment", do you know for certain that these cars were spec'd as "full leather" or are you just assuming that? Having seen the swathes of leather in the factory and knowing for a fact that my Griffith does indeed have leather everywhere (even up under the dash when I was fiddling with the heather valves)
I would be amazed if TVR were doing this. Probabaly just 1/2 leather cars which have changed hands over the years and owners thinking they were meant to be full leather. In which case hat's off to TVR for having such good plastics
Rich...As Byff said i had some additional leather work done in my car, i provided a full hide (cost about £75), door panels including the speaker area's, rear shelf and the lower part of the resess done and i was only charged £60. The trimmer said the only tricky part was the stitching for the rear shelf.

Get yourself a cup of tea, and while there get a sense of humour.
What I said was true (I think). Most of the people who mentioned having trim work done were told that the perforated leather bits were leather the rest isnt.
IIRC the half hide cars had carpet in the door inserts and on the rear parcel shelf. Yours might be different, take it to a specialist if you're worried.
I've never been into knocking TVR's, mine was great I just needed a change after 2 years.
Can't believe that some people have mis-construed the title of my post.
God dammit, this is a deadly serious forum - if people wanna hang out and mess around a bit, they should head for scoobynet.
The last thing on my mind was to get people thinking about a well groomed ladies pee thing.
;-)

R... p.s. Got one and prefer beer to tea.
Well I certainly didn't intend to start a TVR slagging match...
My car was advertised as Half Hide and thats what I assumed it was as the door inserts and parcel shelf etc were carpet and the rest was a very good lookalike leather, fooled me completely.
What has been removed is definately not leather even the perforated bits on the seats.
Lesson learned, don't take anything for granted when buying a car, ANY CAR!

Some tivs are different to others due to the specifications when new from the dealers. Mines half leather. That is the centre consol bit were you stick your elbow. The seats Front only back is plastic of some kind and the steering wheel which is standard plus i have immitation leather in the door inserts. Full leather is exactly what it is All over.
You must know the difference. The sweat profusely in dodgy leather

Well I can say I'm sure but then someone will pipe up and say that they took theirs to a specialist and it was really leather. As far as I'm aware though this isnt the case.
I also prefer beer to tea
