18" spiders - advice required
Discussion
I've searched the forum, and seemed to get different answers to the following questions
1. Do i need to buy 18" FRONT tuscan wheels or will any do.
2. Do 255x35x18 actually suit the rim - some are saying a profile ratio of 40 is required, which some people have pointed out stop the wheels turning.
3. Am I likely to have to have the car modified bar the spacers to take these size rims/tyres?
4. i love Bridgestone S02 PPs - can I still buy them? Keep hearing rumours that caches of them were regularly turning up!
Your answers are always appreciated guys and gals!

1)Yep, I think you have to have Tuscan fronts all round (not rears).
2) Don't know about the profiles
3)Yes car has to be modfied. Have to shorten the drive shaft and put spacers on. Half a days work for someone who knows what they're doing.
4)SO2's are very hard to come by ! TVR are shipping Toyos's as default now.
NB - Getting my 16" wheels upgraded to 18" Spiders next week up at the factory!

40 profile on the front regularly catches (on some cars). I'm running 225 35 ZR18 on the front, which are great. I've got 245 40 ZR18 on the rears, which are great for me too.... no catching at all. Not sure if the 255/35 would suit the rim or not. The 225s are quite narrow - the wall's angled inwards, if that helps.

Not sure if you try putting 255s on. But if you go with 225/35 front, and 245/40 rear, nothing else is required besides the spacers & stops on the steering (from my experience & chatting to people).

Standard tyre sizes for the 18's are
225/35 front 255/40 rear.
Caveat if you're going to use Proxes instead of Bridgestones (incase you can't find any S02s, and don't want to switch to S03s):
Toyo Don't do a T1-S in 255/40 ZR18 (according to their site at least), but they do make both a 245/40 ZR18 & 255/35 ZR18. List of all of 'em:
www.toyo.co.uk/index.php?fuseaction=car.t1-s
You need:-
G0131 x4 Tuscan front alloys
G0135 x4 wheel centre cap
G0136 x20 wheel nuts
G0137 x4 chrome tyre valve
G0245 x2 225/35/18 T1S Toyo front tyres (or the new Toyo TVR branded rubber)
G0246 x2 255/35/18 T1S Toyo rear tyres (or the new Toyo TVR branded rubber)
D0367 x4 Bumpstop packers
and you need to saw off 3-5mm off the rear, otherwise the rear caps won't go on.
