Extra gadget on passengers door
Discussion
Was just looking through the Cerberas in the classifieds, and spotted on the picture below the extra black + silver bit above the door button on the passenger's door, that's missing from mine (along with my lack of an ashtray hole?!?). Anyone know if s this is an extra tweeter speaker or something?
Cheers!
Cheers!
I have those on mine, I have an uprated speaker system
so I guess it's part of the High end.
The only music I normally listen to doesn't need any
speakers
but when I do, it's an excellent sound
without having the rear centre speaker people talk
about.
I'll get some pictures done and try to post more.

They are the tweeters for the stereo.
How do I know this? Because I just bought that car![]()
you should have kept the honda
Flat out, you never have anything constructive to say and all you seem to do is wind people up with your constant witterings about how people shouldn't have TVR's because they are unreliable and break down. Well PH can be unreliable sometimes and frequently people get put in the sin bin or even banned, must be a fault of the system I guess

Cheers guys! Wonder how easy they'd be to fit...
Neil, congratulations on the purchase. Hope it brings years of fault-free fun, and take care in the wet weather whilst you get used to it.

PS I had them on my car, were they any good? I don't know I could never hear anything coming out of them over the engineAlthough the big bass speaker in the centre did make a difference.
No idea, just switched on the stereo to see if it worked
Considering I've been driving round for the past 2 months with no stereo at all, I'm not sure how much use the new one will get...
This is the speaker system fitted to the earlier cars that consisted of a stereo (not front/rear) setup of centre 6x9 bass, rear tiny mids, door mount tweeters and in my case door mounted slightly larger mid range units. It also included therefore a crossover or two, and the overall sound quality, if mine is anything to go by, is cr4p and was abandoned in later cars for a more conventional front door pair / rear pair.
Used correctly with component speakers the system could work, with a centre sub (6x9 available as a special import), front mid/tweeter and rear mid fill without any silly crossovers but with an amp or two, so this is one of my future projects. In the meantime I just listen to the engine instead

Thanks Graham (and everyone else). It looks from the pics as though I'm the only one without an ashtray in the car (for spare fuses, not ash
). Don't know what they were thinking in the factory that day! I've got to rip out the previous owner's hands-free kit anyway, so I think an extra front-centre speaker may well be going in. Either that or I find some way to hook up a small PC in the car...
