Right, on advice of Joolz, I've replaced the belt tensioner on the front of our 4.2 engine, as the existing one was close to seizing. This went reasonably well (though there is not a lot of clearance to get the fibre-glass washer bottle cover out!), but whilst doing so I noticed that on the inside (ribbed) side of the belt, there's a rib-less spot about the size of a 10p piece. Is that standard, i.e. a manufacturing process thing, or is the belt damaged? Anyone?

sounds like it's damaged Sean, the bearing sounded pretty horrible, was drowning out the rest of the usually-noisy cerbera engine! Just a shame the part didn't arrive here when it was supposed (curse the dreaded slow TVR parts process!)
I'll send a belt out in the post tomorrow, they're cheap as chips so you can have that FOC

Hi Joolz,

Thank you!

By the way, is everything on Cerberas held together by Allen screws?!
