Good new/Bad news

I hate it when that happens. The good news 24k service & tappets adjustments completed. New wing mirror on the way. 
Bad news, cam shaft is worn and engine being sent to Coventry, told not to expect the car back until mid Jan.
I just hope that the warranty helps out with this. Has anybody else had this work carried out to their car and had a good response from the warranty peeps?
