High speed wind noise
Discussion
Andy4200,
My wife is always asking if the bonnet is locked down. She worry's so much that I start to question if it's safe and secure. You have just put my mind at easy knowing that others do it. The first time I drove the car at 70+ the bonnet hadn't been locked and it did rise like a magic carpet. This just added to the wife's mistrust

had a little race with a merc the other morning past the 100mark and my bloody bonnet started levitating, had to let the merc go, slowed to 50 and i cud lock the bonnet down on the move...all good fun...in reply to original i think u might find you have same prob as me as the carbon strips up the a pillars allow the drop glass to "pop" out of the guides above certain speeds, with mine its about 80

Done the same here, checked the fluids and went for a blast and found the bonnet coming up a few inches so slowed to 50ish and screwed it up again.
My hinge on the drivers side was cracked and worried me a bit so I done some home fibreglass diy but it still bobbles a bit, especially now that the wind is picking up a bit. Might get it redone properly in the spring.

Personally, every time I lock the bonnet in place with the round knob, I go back and try to pull the bonnet up again to make sure it's secure.
Same as me. It's worth it since one day it will be overlooked - again!
It has happened to my 4.2, to the current 4.5 (on the very first day - it was sent like this) and to a famous TVR dealer during a 4.5 test drive.
The final click home of the bonnett release knob and checking the bonnett manually is what I forever shall depend upon.
The owner's manual says the bonnett lid closing defect is difficult to repair.
