My wipers have stopped this morning in the vertical position and will not move making driving a bit tricky. Neither button seems to work but the screen wash is so i asume the button connectivity is still there.
Does anyone have any idea's or point me in the right direction of which relay or fuse it is?
Any help would be appreciated.

I had this problem last summer; mine was down to some 'eccentric' wiring in the steering wheel, which also resulted in the park switch getting very hot. I'm sure someone more qualified then me here can point you in the right direction for checking these out.

Which I believe also does the control unit for the buttons on the steering wheel. i.e if your wash/wipe is working it's not the fuse. I had this the other day and mine's the wiper motor

Spoke to the dealer and they told me fuse 15(20Amp) which was blown, replaced it still no joy, also tried to move the wipers down to the park position but i can only get them to move about 3 inches so i am guessing its the motor that has seized?

Had a similar problem few weeks back - wipers used when raining one night, next morning when dry they were stuck. Poured some water over the screen and instantly sorted. Worth trying on the off chance.

I sometimes find that mine only move properly when the screen's wet... Kind of a budget version of rain-sensing wipers.

Glad it's not just me! First problem I had was the wipers would get stuck if the screen was not totally soaked and then the Park Switch busted so I spent more time looking at where the wipers were in intermittent rain/drizzle to make sure:-

a) The screen was wet enough to warrant switching the wipers on (by which time I could hardly see anything) - otherwise they'd get stuck halfway up;

b) If it was wet enough and then the rain slacked off I'd have to press the wiper button the required number of times to turn them off again at the right time, so they would come to rest roughly on the lefthand side.

Combine this sort of manouvre on a B-road when its dark and raining with BMW's coming the other way armed with Halogen-tastic headlights blaring in your eyes and only a couple of candles held in front of you its a wonder you don't crash depsite only going 5 miles an hour with your head hunched down below the steering wheel to avoid the furious driver behind you who is flashing you up in both wing mirrors and rearview mirror because he can't work out why someone in a 420 bhp car is driving like an old coffin-dodger.

Time to take a breath.....

A new park switch, a new wiper motor, new wiper blades and one of those tape-type mechanism thingys helps a lot, but I think I'll try some Rain X as well for good luck and possibly a headlight conversion for good measure.

Oh, and a luminous sticker on the back that reads "Have a heart, chum, I'm driving so slowly because I can't see a fg thing!

I had two wiper motors in my last cerb - they aren't really up to the job. If your wiper motor won't run the wipers on a dry screen its time to chang. On a 4.5 I think I'm right in sying that if the wiper fuse blows you lose your turn indicators as well
