Had a little play with a Ferrari 348 yesterday. Great fun overtaking and then waiting for it to overtake.

Cerbera was running beautifully, dropping down a gear and accelerating hard. Speed, noise, style. There is absolutely no other car I would rather have been in

Would you straight swap the 348 for your cerb if the running costs were the same???

Hmmmm, interesting. Think this requires another topic post.

Not in a million years ! We test drove 1 about 6 months before we got our Cerb, and it's not in the same league in terms of outright pace. Ok, so the 348 is a 'Rarri, but still.........

I think most would...if the running costs were the same. I know the cerb is quicker, but the badge makes up 4 it.

But the 348's not a great 'rarri to pick, though. Straight-swapping an early 355 I could maybe understand - it's a much better car.

Have to agree. My Nephew has had both. The 348 was a bit of a disappointment. No grunt, nasty offset pedals and a bit plasticky. The 355 was a different world. The sod has now moved on to a 360.

Not if you're in mainland Europe. Sorry, but a Ferrari doesn't do it for me just because it's a Ferrari. It's just a wee bit cliché. If I parked a Cerbie next to a 'Rarri (any 'Rari) it would completely and utterly steal the dancing donkey's thunder.

OK, so the fact that there's only one Cerbie registered here might have something to do with it...

Dont know what it is with Ferraris....being from the continent, a TVR is the mystery car, that thrashes them all, looks gorgeous, sounds gorgeous and all...whereas Ferraris are for little would-be Italians with too much money and not enough brains, Gold Chains, fake tan and oily hair...they are just too much "in your face"....oh, and before you have a go at me: same thing for Lambo and Porsche: just too much...go away, give me a cerbera anytime...

I respect your right to an opinion Lutz, but going on about little would be Italians, fake tans, and oily hair, etc is just going to offend folk on here who are fortunate enough to own a Ferrari, Porker, or a Lambo. In my experience of meeting people with such (awesome) vehicles they meet none of the above criterion you stated.

I guess it amounts to the title of the thread - Horses for Courses

I wouldn't even entertain the thought of swopping ANY TVR for a 348. Being 6'6" tall I totally understand the wannabe little Italian jibe too!

A 355 maybe - but they are diferent completely and not necessarily better for my thrill per £/mile equation than a TVR.
