lost key!!!! help
Discussion
Richard, I'm presuming the key by the gearstick is in place.
If so you are trying to get the second fob to work.
I may be wrong here, but you should be able to disconnect the battery, re connect & then immediately press the keyfob for a few seconds, the hazard lights should flash quick.
hopefully thats it.
Confirmation anyone ?

If it is the key fob thats missing/broken then you need to get a factory replacement (something to do with the codes)...If i was informed correctly, during a conversation recently regarding "what if i lost my key fob....." with another member of the mid-Essex TVRcc, they can be ordered from the factory provided you have all the nessesary proof of ownwership, log book, etc etc. I think all the code details are 'logged' at the factory at build stage and then stored along side details such as chassis numbers.
What I have been assured of, is, although you can buy these fobs from a decent car alarm supplier/retailer, they DO NOT work..... hope this helps

I would think satman is correct. The factory will have all the details.
I got a red disc when I bought my car, which had the code number on it.
On a similar note I asked how to synchronise a second key fob if the first was lost (second one hadn't been used for years) and was told that there is a way but involves standing on your head while playing the flute and singing an indian raindance while pressing buttons numerous times..... or something like that.
Sorry I can't be more help, I got lost after the dealer said 'press'!!!!

You should be able to get a second keyfob from Meta, or a dealer can order one for you.
The problem is it will come uncoded - hence will not work, as the alarm system will not recognise it.
You will need to put the alarm system into 'learn' mode - you do this by using a working keyfob. I.e. the one that Richard's daughter has hidden. Once the alarm is in 'learn' mode you can add or remove keyfobs from the system.
It is quite straight forward, but you do need a working keyfob. If you don't have one I guess you would need to contact TVR or Meta, with the necessary proof of purchase and the alarm code.

thanks everyone, i`ll try the suggestion regarding disconnecting battery, also to those whoasked if it was the keyfob, yes ,thats the b******,i`ve also got the red key card with the code numbers, so i`ll try contacting the system maker, does anyone have a contact?
interestingly i did say this when i spoke to tvr but apparently the key fob works on a rolling code so you apparently need the working one to get the unit to talk to any new fob and thus pass on the code,
whatever happened to good old keys!!!
