How much oil in the gearbox???

Does anybody know how much oil the gearbox should have in it????

Reason I ask, is that I've just drained and refilled it, but even after 2 litres, its not dripping back out of the filler as expected The handbook says 1.4 litres.

Seemed like a lot more than 1.4 litres came out when I drained it, but I don't want to overfill it..oops already have(maybe)

Any ideas

mine says the same, still think it should be more though....maybe 4.1 litres????

That would make around 7.2 pints or nearly a gallon...im not sure thats correct!...have you still got the original oil drained? can you measure the amount?

Sadly not!!! Drained engine, g/box and diff oils all into the same container, and then disposed of it straight away Never mind.

I see what you're saying about the amount, its just that most boxes, have a filler/level plug - fill till you get oil dripping on your bonce and pop the plug back in - job done.

The cerbs filler plug is no different, but no oil on the bonce, not even a drip

Looking at the gearbox, it's a big old lump, and 1.4 litres just doesn't seem enough.

Looks like Joolz might be getting another phone call in the morning - I'll post on here when I find out for sure.
