Amplifier - Radio Reception
Discussion
Ordered myself one of those ariel amplifiers from TVR GEAR as someone suggested from here and it's arrived (3 days later) .... Just wondering if anyone has fitted one and has any suggestions before I start ??
The fitting guide suggests by the filler neck on the petrol tank, but how do I feed the wires through the the stereo ??
Dare say I could figure it out, but trying to avoid a whole day of frustration.

Yep,
I fitted one last year, thought it was hopeless at first, then got hold of another copper strip ariel from David at Modwise. And it's been fantastic ever since, superb reception.
I'd ring him for advice, really nice guy, and can't do enough to help.
In the meantime have a look at this......

Also type modwise amplifier into the search thingy, and have a look.....

Father Christmas bought me one of these but it wasn't the easiest piece of kit in the world to fit.
The effort was worthwhile though because the reception was much improved over the aerial that I had extended up the inside of the rear pillar.
I got fed up with the copper strips falling off of the fibreglass in the boot (probably should have sugar-soaped it and used araldite!) so ended up connecting the amp to the aerial that I'd left inside the rear pillar.
This didn't seem any worse than the copper strip "aerials" and saved me from having to shrink my hands to fit them into the gaps where the control boxes usually reside in the boot every time the copper strips fell down.
Very happy with the reception improvement!!
