Doors and mirrors help please????

I've just retrimmed the doors and fitted new speakers (had the old centre one) but now that I've put the door back on the mirrors and door open buttons don't work. The door button outside, on the mirror does work though.

I did try and clean the connections before fitting, should I have left them dirty?

Had my door skin off a couple of weeks ago - I had a water problem.
I did notice when parting the cable connection block that the connections were greased up and weathered with water (green copper!). Don't know why the grease was on as this would impair connectivity, unless this was to keep out water.
I used a small paint brush to get the grease out, and sprayed the block with 'Frospray' (BT use it for dodgy underground connections). As long as you get it clean you should be ok.

Noticed the same. One door had the connections covered in grease and one hadn't.

I was being a bit dim with the mirrors, I had the switch in the middle position so I think I have broke a connection to the door button as I was cleaning them. They are intermitant now.

I'll get a new connection while I am out and hopefully bury this problem.

On the plus side, new speakers sound great.
