Has anyone any idea how much a new radiator would be for a 98' 4.2 Cerb?

Talk to Joolz at Joospeed and just get an uprated one instead. Details are on his website.

Don't know how much off the top of my head.

Joolz, do I get commission?

I got a 3 core one from Tower View for about £200. It is the same as the Griffith and Chimeara. Alternatively get the old one recored.

Worth checking the steel pipes under the engine cover are not about to let go with corrosion.

Totally agree about checking these pipes as mine are almost rusted through. However I have got a set of Stainless Steel ones on order from ACT

Richard.

Is your radiator leaking, or are you linking it in with your fan/gauge queery a few weeks ago? Are the fans working ok now..or was it the gauge. The readings can slightly vary (within reason) from car to car.

Hi Mick,
The fans are now working fine. it was the thermo switch under the engine cover at the front.I gave the contacts a bit of a clean and a tweak and the fans are now fine. However when the car is upto normal working temp there are wisps of steam coming from the rad on the n/s.I can't actually see any liquid coming out but it is a worry. It is difficult to see exactly where the steam is coming from but it is not the top hose which is over on that side.I removed the n/s fan to get a better look and there does appear to be water marks and slight corrosion right at the edge of the rad.I suppose I'm just being cautious but I would rather get a new rad than be worrying about it.She's going in to see Jools in about 3 weeks so I will ask him to have a look.May go for one of his uprated ones ready for the summer!!!

Glad your fans are now sorted..,but sorry to hear your problems with the radiator. Joolz will sort it out, ready for the summer.
