front discs and suspension
Discussion
my 97 4.2 requires new front discs and a new rear shock. My first question is are there any upgraded discs on the market that will improve the braking and secondly i thought about replacing the whole suspension system any advice on this, it is currently sitting on 18" spiders and tends to bottom out if a small person sits in the back (wife, boy sits in the front), I dont want too hard a ride.
thanks
thanks
I had drilled Red Rose type front discs fitted as upgrade and the front is certainly under better control. The Nitrons went on yesterday so I will see what the difference is (used to bottom out and knock on back and front springs had sagged so decided to treat her to the lot
as we're off to Ireland soon for a blat and didn't want too much

I have the grooved AP racing upgrade dics. - Nice.
Suffolk - please give us your initial Nitron impressions, I am certainly teetering on the edge of ordering some....

I'm having Nitrons fitted to the front (only) in a couple of weeks, and will post up the difference I notice too (coming from a Lotus-owning background).

I had Nitrons fitted last year and the garage said the difference would be like 'night & day'. They weren't wrong - no more crashing over bumps and drain covers or tram-lining on the motorway. Better grip and the whole thing. Fully adjustable.
My ride quality's very good already - no real tramlining, nice ride that isn't crashy, etc. Just feels a bit squeamish under the rear wheels near the limit (i.e. the limit comes too soon!)
