Went for a splendid run out up to Chris Neils open day, great weather nice roads etc.

However, I collided with a stone that must have been close to the size of a meteor and it's smashed my headlamp glass.

It's done no further damage, does anyone know if its possible to replace just the glass and roughly how much it may set me back...

Cheers

Hi David

Glad you had a great day out - had a wonderful one out
in mine too.

Sorry to hear about the damage.

Have a look here, should sort you out.

Did you not think to ask Christopher Neils??

Havent a clue, I should think that its reasonably pricey though - or they wouldnt sell protectors as fitted to dads car (see profile pic) the three black dots hold them on...

over £40 (cost of the protectors IIRC)

This was a discussion on the source of the standard headlamps:

Aparently they are Skania truck items, but my guess is that you will have to buy & fit the whole thing, not just the glass, as the glass is normally bonded in. I personally would not want to do a DIY bonding job, as 1) moisture could get in if not sealed properly , 2) It could fall out )

Now why didn't I think of asking Chris Neils...

Perhaps because it happened on the way back!

Headlamp protectors sound like a damned good idea though right now. From what I can gather the pods are around £60 according to TVRGear (cheers Graham)...

Looks like another trip to the dealers, at least with the Cerbie the trips back are either incredibly minor or no-ones fault, unlike my old Tuscans!

Cheers
