well done = its great fun eh!
i did 8 passes in the 1997 4.2 - best was 12.66 and worst was 13.1
i found it best to get rolling with low revs and then press loud pedal fairly quickly, but dont stamp on it. I pumped up the rear tyres a few pounds too. I had SO2's on - well worn.
Right i'm off to bed (i'm in Oz)

Nice big burn out (in 2nd gear) to get tyres sticky, then as Nick says. For a cold/damp day that's not bad, but Moonie got a 12.3 out of his early 4.2. Possibly not with standard tyres though.

low 13's is what you get from EVO's and Scoobies.

High 11's is what Top Gear got with 4.5 RR Cerbie.

btw, what was you trap speed ?

www.tvrfreak.com Thats the last I have heard about him.

On a decent drag strip a Cerbera should be running in the 12's with favourable weather.

well,Just by improving your reaction time your would be in the 12's, your trap speed is about 10mph higher than other car which do the same time (Evo's).

so really, if your reaction time was quicker and you didnt spin your wheels so much you would be around 12.6 - 12.9.(Letting some air out of your tyres would improve grip)

But it was your first time so you dd good,

doesnt matter about the reaction time - subtract it from your 1/4 mile time to get the figures that are used by car mags.

You did well

Huh? The 1/4 mile time on the slip doesn't include reaction time generally - this is subtracted. It only matters if you were actually trying to beat the guy next to you.

It wasn't IIRC... A0032R's cut slicks with the numbers rubbed away...

What would be the best tyres/pressure to use for a 1/4 mile attempt :
Same tyres & pressure as you use on the road
Same tyres, with 10psi less
Almost bald road tyres, warmed up nicely
A032r's (or similar)
Avon slicks
