I actually made it down to VW- there were about 4 cerbs there and lots of Chimps. It was bitterly cold and I was on the way home from somewhere so didn't stay long but as I arrived there was a 4.5 Cerb in Blue pulling away and I swear.. I swear it sounded like it had a rover engine in it!!!!!!!!

all the other cerbs I have heard sound like mine basically raspy and snarly but this one burbled just like my old Chimp and the other chimps there.

I should have taken the reg.. am I going mad? if the owner is PH'er please let me know for my own sanity!

PS never got to talk to anyone cos there was no-one about! in summer it would be amzing I imagine down there!

so mike_e cerb has got a Rover V8 in a cerbera? I have to ask again cos a std 4.5 cerb or 4.2 cerb like mine is an APJ V8 and sounds very very different to the usual V8.

I think the Cerb you are talking about was at the last Mid-Essex meet...ask Yellow Peril if she knows who that was....

What time was this Ian? We left around 2:30 (ish) IIRC.

If it was mine, it's a 4.5 AJP engine under the hood. I left with Big Al and Marcos Maniac right behind me, both with LOUD chims.

I bet you heard the Chims and thought of the Cerb... Don't think you can get the mellifluous burble of a Chim/Griff on a Cerb due to the flat plane crank..

But you can take the cats out and lose your eardrums!!
