Can anyone tell me if it is normal for the oil pressure warning light to stay on for a few seconds after startup on SP6 (when cold)? (Oil pressure is fine there afterwards)

Idle speed is what it says in the book, but for example the light stays on for around 3 seconds even if you hold it at about 1000 rpm

It's probably nothing but if you're in any doubt about oil pressure (and you've checked the oil level is full and the pressure release spring has been replaced in the last couple of years) I'd take it to a garage and have it checked.

My light stays on for about 1-2 seconds after starting the engine up. Oil level is fine, but the car could probably do with a new relief spring (which will be done in the next couple of weeks).

Mine does the same thing (light stays on for a couple of seconds when first started from cold) and has since I got it. Andy at APM checked it out when he had it in and said it was fine.

Is it linked to the Speed6 engine being rev limited to 2000rpm for the first 200 revolutions (to do with dry sump oil system)?????????

My light seems to stay on for a few seconds from cold (in the current sub-zero temperatures).

Also the oil gauge reads low until the engine is warmed up (and I tap the glass).

My theory is its just to do with the oil being very viscous at winter temperatures, it doesn't do it in the summer.
