Hopefully I'll be at Lowestoft in time to see them leave!

Anyone else doing this on the Saturday night?

simba0869, did you do it last year in a black XKR?

We were in my daughter's grey MX5 ND last year.

This year, we're in my Mk3 Audi TT Quattro, which has a bit more legroom for me.

I'll keep an eye out for you at the start. We're in a white Audi TT.

We'll be making another video of the run.

Barney from Proving Autos on YouTube is doing the run too but he says he won't be making a video this time, intending to concentrate on doing the run.

Here's our video from last year.

And here's Barney's.

And here's an unsuccessful run from Turbo Tim's World, which is the best example on YouTube that shows the chaotic start at Land's End. The start is between 6:30 and 9:45.

Been a day or two since I've been here.
I'm doing the run this year (after taking a 3 year break). Got a new (to me) car of choice this year. Looking forwards to meeting the people I've seen on YouTube who have done this over the last few years. Proving Autos & Back Road Hero especially, I've watched these videos loads of times.

I think the M25/M3 junction is closed on the 21st into 22nd

It is.

The diversion is to continue to M3 J1 and return to the M25.

The A12 is also closed at Yoxford for final carriageway resurfacing.

The diversion is not to cross the Orwell Bridge but to go up the west of Ipswich using the A14 and the A140 to the A143 at Scoles and then east to Lowestoft.

The easy M5/M4 route has no posted roadworks as of today for those with well used cruise control buttons.

I've been speaking to Ed from Back Road Hero and he's not doing it this year.

Looks like you could leave the M3 at J3 and pick up the A30, this takes you out to the M25 at J13

You could, but it takes you through a two way residential/commercial area with numerous traffic lights (I gave up counting after 7) and a railway level crossing. Who knows what's on that at two in the morning.

The M3 to Junction 1 and back, although longer, would, in my opinion, be quicker.

In addition, there are no speed cameras to worry about on that section if you were to lose track of your speed due to tiredness.

RAG-2026 should be my 6th Lands End to Lowestoft attempt. Looking forward to meeting up with CyCySputnik and Scotch Pie Hunters

2021Jaguar XF Sportbrake - Successful
2022 Jaguar XF Sportbrake - Successful
2023 Lotus Elise - Fail (multiple road closures and detours)
2024 Lotus Evora - Fail (by seconds!)
2025 Lotus Evora - Successful
2026 Lotus Evora

Correct that the Eastbound M3-M25 junction (#2) will be closed (grass cutting). The Highways Agency advises continuing to Jct #1 and back to #2. A 14 mile detour. Plenty of alternative routes if you want to go north (M4-Reading) or South A3-GUildford) (Find your own !!)

Highways Agency are not reporting a closure of the A12....BUT the workstracker for Sizewell C power station advises that the A12 WILL be closed at Yoxford. So anyone taking the A12 would effectively take the A14 at Ipswich and head to Diss. Approx. 7-mile extra.

Beginning to think it may be easier to avoid the A12 and do the route via A1M and Bury
