In 2016 I was fortunate to take part in the Golf GTI 40th birthday party at VW Milton Keynes, organised by PistonHeads.
What a brilliant day it was, with so many superb examples on display.
The 1984 MK2 GTI that I owned at the time was sadly written off a few years later, but I have since bought a similar car that I first saw at the 2016 event.
