Yes I know it's a long way off but i need to plan things will in advance because of work and family commitments...

Has anyone been, is it chaos or quite relaxed?, which grandstands are recommended?, the plan is to stay in Nice, which we've visited before, and get the train across each day, is that feasible? What are the sustenance options like, doesn't strike me as the sort of event with burger bars etc!!

Try reading all the similar threads from previous years - not much changes apart from the prices but even then there are some 'reasonable' prix fixe lunches to be had - as I recall it is so relaxed that the grandstand pass is for any stand (this too may have changed)

Friday is the free day, we had specific seats in the grandstand by the swimming pool. We stayed in Menton with an easy train ride in.

Menton is better than Nice for a train ride in. First year we did Menton and it was super chill on the train with pick of the seats.

Nice the next time was unbearable and unsafe. The train was over capacity, people yelling at others trying to get on at any stop despite no room. I wouldn’t do that again.

Friday is free to go in any grandstand Saturday and Sunday you need to choose a seat.
