Transit Connect ABS sensor
Discussion
Hi Folks
looking for a bit of advice. Just had the van in for a new wheel bearing on the front. After about 20 minutes of driving the ESP light came on with a fault message on the LCD screen.
I know the ESP runs off the abs sensors so I thought maybe one had been dislodged/damaged by the garage doing the bearing replacement.
I removed the sensor and no obvious damage but it did have some copper grease on so I cleaned it all up and the message went away until I did a run for about 20/30mins and it's come on again. I know from doing a bit of reading that the bearings are "sided" and have to go in the correct way to allow the sensor to get a signal.
Does anyone know if the bearing has been put in the wrong way round would the fault show up straight away or would it be normal for it to take 20/30 mins before coming to light?
Just trying to get some info before I go back to the garage.
